Tomorrow, Apple releases their new operating system for mobile devices, iOS7. Many app developers, including WORDsearch, have been working overtime to make current apps compatible with iOS7.

This is important: before you try to use your WORDsearch app (either the green Classic app or the new blue app) in iOS7, check the App Store and update your WORDsearch apps to the latest version. It will save you potential problems that may occur in the new iOS7.

Your Original WORDsearch iPad App is Now Available for Reinstalling

Here is some good news if you’ve been wanting us to bring back the original WORDsearchiPad app. Your old app is now available. You can reinstall it and use it as you did in the past.

WORDsearch Bible Classic – In the App Store Now

While we continue fixing the bugs in the new app, you can now reinstall your original version of the app. We were required to give it a new name, so just go to the Apple App Store and search for WORDsearch Bible Classic. If you are on your iPad now, you can find it by clicking here.

Just sign in with your email address and password to install. If you’ve already installed the new app, it’s not necessary to delete it from your iPad. This way, you’ll automatically be notified each time a corrected and updated version of the new app is available. You can have both apps on your iPad at the same time. It’s your choice. You can run the old app, the new app or both.

New Update Available for iPad

IPadPhoneBIn my last communication to you, I shared that we were working on some improvements to the new iPad app. We have corrected many of the problems in a new update that is now available in the App Store, and we are continuing to work on a few other issues.

Our current solution is to continue bringing you regular updates on the new app until it delivers a better experience than the older version and much more.

With this latest update, you can now:

  • Copy and paste using books in your WORDsearch library
  • View books you have recently read
  • View only books that you have downloaded to your iPad
  • Sync Bibles and commentaries more reliably
  • Set your default Bible
  • Find book titles now sorted with “The,” “An” and “A” removed

Dear WORDsearch Friend, We had hoped to provide you with corrections to the current app, as well as other options to assist you in your Bible study by the end of this week. However, we have experienced a delay in the Apple approval process. As soon as we have additional information to share, we will notify you.

Thanks for your patience and prayers,

Progress Update on WORDsearch iPad App

IPadPhoneDear WORDsearch Friend,

About a week ago I wrote you about the troubles we discovered within the new WORDsearchiPad app. I promised to keep you updated on our progress and that is why I’m writing you today.

Our technical team is carefully addressing one issue at a time, strengthening the app and eliminating the issues that sometimes cause problems. The items currently being repaired are:

  • The app crashes upon trying to launch and load books
  • The bug related to the default Bible setting
  • The bug related to syncing panes

We are not yet at the point where we can deliver a new update with all the fixes that need to be in place, but we are making good progress. We are also working on additional fixes and new options to make your experience better in the days ahead, including the ability to copy content from your WORDsearch titles.
