iOS Update – Cross-References

Hi everyone!
You may have noticed that the cross-reference tool in the WORDsearch iOS app is gone. Unfortunately, we have had to remove this features due to licensing. The good news is that we still have the dual pane feature that you can use to look up cross-references without the tool.

If you haven’t updated your app, you will see this message when you try to use cross-references.

Once you update your app from the Apple store, the HCSB will load in the second pane instead of the error message. This updated build has been sent to Apple and will correct the iOS 9 issues as well. It will be available as soon as possible.

Thanks so much for your patience and understanding! We are still continuing to work on the app to bring you improved performance.

  1. My second pane is blank. I am reading a theology book. Can I use it for anything? When I view my HCSB bible using a scripture link from another book, my footnote links are now inline (shown in your image as blue and clickable) with no space between the link message and the text. It is confusing since it now merges with the reading. The links once worked a long time ago but previous to this version they just showed garbage. I am now happy that the words themselves in HCSB are no longer running together as if they were one word as they did in the previous version.

The biggest problem I have is that I set the Bible for links to ASV and it works fine when I set it. But the next time I open the tool and click on a bible verse the message claims that the verse isn’t in my Bible for every verse I try. Of course it really is in there but the program is broken. I have to set it to another version and then set it back to this version to get it to work again. This is a long occurring problem that needs to be fixed.

    • Hi Dale, you should be able to open a book in the second pane. You might have to delete the app and reinstall to see if it fixes the problem. Thank you!
