Free Friday! Spurgeon Edition

The Prince of Preachers was born 185 years ago today. Few people in history can be known by one name and have it ring true with their audience, and Charles H. Spurgeon is one of them. Revered by preachers and those who have heard or read his message, he became one of the most influential men in sharing the gospel. It is estimated that over his lifetime he preached to over 10,000,000 people.

To celebrate Spurgeon’s birthday, this week’s free book is his work Commenting and Commentaries. First published in 1876, this volume offers you an unique glimpse into the mind and thoughts of Charles Spurgeon on the subject of Bible commentaries. Spurgeon offers his opinions and thoughts about some of the best Bible commentators of his time and discusses the value that commentary can offer to Scripture, especially when it helps to enlighten and illuminate the Bible text and meaning. Commenting and Commentaries was also named by the Master’s Seminary as part of the 850 Best Books for Biblical Expositors.
